We do traditional and raft foundations for most of our construction projects done on fairly level sites. For sloping sites, we use suspended light steel frame slabs.
A light steel foundation means that the structure of the foundation is shaped with steel beams and then concreted over. This ensures a much stronger base, in terms of possible movement, sinking or cracking.
The same principle applies for floors, which makes the shuttering of floating or suspended first / bottom floors much quicker and easier than would otherwise have been possible with traditional construction methods.
Light steel foundations are ideal for sloping, wet or difficult sites.
