Kerrie is an indigenous tree to South Africa.
The wood is durable and fire resistant, and also extremely resistant to preservative treatment.
The colour of Kerrie wood is reddish-brown. The grain is interlocked with some wavy grain and the texture is even to moderately course.
Pre-drilling is required for nailing, but it can be glued, stained, and polished satisfactorily.
Kerrie is used for decking, flooring, sleepers and also for indoor furniture.
